MV Communications hosts successful charity golf dayMV Communications hosted a successful golf day in aid of their official charity, the ‘Give Me a Chance’ Children’s Foundation. 75 Golfers gathered to enjoy a sunny day out at the Riviera on Vaal Country Club with celebrity ambassadors of the Foundation such as Springbok Pole Vault veteran Ockert Brits, Cats rugby player Werner Swanepoel and Javelin athlete Phil Spies. The day was concluded with a spitbraai at Inyama Grill House with entertainment by well known comedian Mark Banks. Various other sporting greats contributed to an auction and by the end of the evening thousands of rands had been raised for the Foundation. Sponsors who opened their hearts towards this charitable event included Sangreal Security, Century Electrical, Nampak Liquid, On Tap, Xerox, TaylorMade, Citi Bearings and Seals, Tee-Offs, Inyama Grill House and Matthews Restaurant. Other sponsors who contributed towards prizes include among other Cloud9 Golf, Spur Three Rivers, Graphic Imprint, Zorgvliet Wines, Mariachi’s Restaurant, Alluvia Specialist Winery, Riviera on Vaal Hotel & Country Club, the ProShop at Riviera on Vaal Country Club and Barnyard Vereeniging.
The ‘Give Me a Chance’ Children’s Foundation has achieved great success in the Western Cape where it was founded by Delarey and Sandie Brugman from Alluvia Specialist Winery. The Foundation aims to assist gifted children who don’t have the financial means to make a success of their lives. Funds raised at this event will be used to launch a satellite office in the Vaal Triangle. MV Communications is the custodians for the Foundation in the Vaal Triangle. “Being socially responsible is an essential part of our business as we are genuinely concerned about the future of the youth in our community. We find a lot of synergy with the ‘Give Me a Chance’ Children’s Foundation as their key objectives include teaching the beneficiary to give back. This creates a cycle of change to be repeated in the future,” says Melanie van der Merwe, MD of MV Communications, Riviera on Vaal Hotel & Country Club and trustee of the Foundation. 11 Staff members from MV Communications are also raising funds for the Foundation by entering the 94.7 Momentum Mountain Bike Challenge.
