Stellenbosch Student Nominated For National Award

A young beneficiary of the “Give me a Chance” Children’s Foundation has been nominated by the trust patrons, Alluvia Specialist Winery & Guesthouse for the Black Business Quarterly Youth Awards. The exceptionally talented Marco Hendricks is currently a first year B.Com Accounting student at the University of Stellenbosch.

Marco was the youngest finalist selected for this prestigious award and recently attended the inaugural gala event and award presentation at Emperor’s Palace in Gauteng. The BBQ Awards honour young South African citizens from previously disadvantaged backgrounds, who have shown innovation and integrity in their field of expertise as well as a commitment to the economic and social development of South African society.

The director of the “Give me a Chance” Children’s Foundation, was delighted with this nomination. “Marco has been involved with the “Give me a Chance” Children’s Foundation for the past five years and it has been an incredibly humbling experience to observe his development. We have had the pleasure of watching this exceptional young man grow closer and closer to making his aspirations reality,” comments Berchulski.
