ALLUVIA LAUNCHES TASTING ROOM AND ‘GIVE ME A CHANCE’ WINE

Alluvia Specialist Winery & Guest House in the beautiful Banhoek Valley recently hosted its annual 'GIVE ME A CHANCE' fundraising dinner. The event created an ideal platform to launch the latest vintages of Alluvia's 'GIVE ME A CHANCE' label, namely their 'Give Me a Chance' Cabernet Sauvignon 2006 and their 'Give Me a Chance' Sauvignon Blanc 2008.

The 2006 'Give me a Chance' Cabernet Sauvignon entices with its rich, glistening red colour bursting with bright raspberries and a touch of black cherry on the nose. The wine delivers vibrant fruit on the palate with a velvety soft finish. This vivacious red can be enjoyed on its own or paired with more robust dishes as lasting fruity finish will entice the palate for more.

The 2008 'Give me a Chance' Sauvignon Blanc boasts intense tropical papaya and granadilla combined with an abundance of mango and citrus flavours. The tropical preface with gentle floral scents results in a well-balanced mouth-feel and intense lemon drop flavours. The 2008 'Give me a Chance' Sauvignon Blanc is a well-balanced fruity wine with a definite finish and a rounded and perfumed follow through.

The 'Give Me a Chance' Children's Foundation was started in October 2004 by Alluvia owners, Delarey and Sandie Brugman, in an effort to make a tangible contribution to the future of the Kylemore community. According to Delarey Brugman, research has shown that the development of a child from underprivileged status into a commercially active individual results in the betterment of at least 12 other people from his or her community. "Although the Kylemore community in the Banhoek Valley has one of the poorest communities in our country, it is also home to a talented group of learners who dare to dream and are willing to work hard at achieving their goals. The 'Give Me a Chance' Foundation works to help these children realise their dreams by raising funds for scholarship programmes as well as establishing a network of strong role models to mentor these children," says Brugman.

All proceeds generated through the sale of these wines will be donated to the Trust.
